Most of our favorite things involve nature and new adventures, and have nothing whatsoever to do with money, proving the adage "Money can't buy happiness." 1. BeachesI am a beach bum at heart. I love the feel of the sand in my toes and the sun on my face. I love the breezes and the mist coming off the waves. Honestly, I could lie on a beach every day for months on end and never tire of it. Also, my new favorite word is "spoondrift": a showery sprinkling of sea-water or fine spray swept from the tops of the waves. 2. Farm AnimalsHaving practically grown up on my grandparents' dairy farm, I learned from an early age to love and respect farm animals. Spending a day among horses, cattle, sheep, or even chickens gives me warm fuzzies through and through. 3. LakesLittle else offers the peaceful tranquility of a still, clear lake. 4. WildlifeFrom zoos to nature walks through wildlife conservations to rural hiking, the animals we see never fail to make us stop and watch (and often photograph) their antics. 5. RiversThere's something therapeutic about the sound of moving water - from the rush of a mighty river to the trickle of a tiny stream. 6. PetsThough our hectic travel schedule prevents us from keeping pets of our own, we love meeting our friends' furry family members. 7. MountainsWhether looking up at them or down from them, mountains are the epitome of majesty and wonder. 8. FlowersThough I appreciate a tastefully arranged bouquet of flowers, my favorites are the ones I stumble across outdoors. Wildflowers tend to be my favorites, particularly when I cross a whole field of them. 9. New CitiesVery little makes us happier than exploring a new city, especially by foot or by bicycle.
