I cannot believe it took us this long to visit this absolutely charming little Texas town! Ride the Flying Horses carousel.This fully-restored pre-1910 carousel "was discovered in 1930 by Mr. Hugh Durden in Clay, Texas. It was left in a pasture years earlier, during the Depression, by a carnival that couldn't afford to pay rent on the land they used for their carnival." (Historical Market Database) For $1.00 per ride per person, your family can enjoy this beautiful piece of history. Tour Giddings Stone Mansion.Though we were unable to go inside to take the full tour because of time constraints and a very cranky toddler, the exterior of this 1870 Greek Revival home is stunning, and the reviews are great. It's on our bucket list; put it on yours too! See the murals.Downtown Brenham features a large number of murals. Take a walk around the town and see the owls, the tiger eyes, the birds, Blue Bell ice cream, and much more! Take Pictures in the Gazebo.In front of the Washington County Courthouse on Main Street is a beautiful gazebo that is perfect for your Insta profile! Places to Eat in BrenhamTruth BarbequeFor amazing Texas Q, including melt-in-your-mouth brisket and creamy mac n cheese, check out Truth Barbeque. The line of people waiting for their counter-serve barbeque is proof that the food is worth the wait! Must Be HeavenThis old-fashioned ice cream parlor (serving, of course, Blue Bell Ice Cream!) and sandwich shop has been delighting guests since 1982. Get there early, though; they close at 3:00. Brossa's Cibo-e-VinoHoused in a lovely little 19th-century converted home, Cibo-e-Vino features an exquisite menu and absolutely oozes charm. Brenham offers all the charm of some of our favorite small Texas towns. If you haven't been to Brenham, I highly recommend that you put it on your list of places to visit.
