Emmett's birthday party this year was much more low-key than last year's party. This year, we utilized the pool instead of coming up with games and we kept the menu simple. With the help of our family and friends, it was still loads of fun, and Emmett had a great time (though he gets shy when he's in the spotlight).

The decorations this year were much simpler than last year. I bought a couple of items on Amazon and put together a balloon arch. I also found the cutest Oh, TWOdles cake topper on Amazon and picked up a little Mickey Mouse-themed Happy Birthday banner at a local dollar store, which we hung over the present table.
Menu
Appetizers:
Daisy’s Cheese and Quackers (4 types of crackers and 4 types of cubed cheeses) Donald’s Berry Cups (blueberries and strawberries in white cups) Mains: Pluto’s Hot Dogs (hot dogs, wheat buns, white buns, and condiments) Minnie’s Buttons and Bows Mac N Cheese (macaroni and cheese made with bowtie pasta) Goofy’s Goofy Beans (I used this recipe for Hungry Hobo Beans but left out the meats) Desserts: Mickey’s Hot Diggity Dog Chocolate Cake Toodles’ Funfetti Cake
Emmett LOVED his cakes, which were made with love by his nana.
Costumes
Marvin isn't much for dressing up in costumes, but Emmett and I were Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. I bought a red polka dot dress, he wore a black t-shirt and a pair of red shorts with white ovals stitched on for buttons, and we each wore a pair of these mouse ears. We set the rest of the ears out for guests.
Do you have a little boy or girl who is a big fan of Mickey and Minnie? I hope you find these ideas useful as you consider a Mickey Mouse-themed or Minnie Mouse-themed party!
